The series is based on the video game League of Legends. While it does immerse you in this fantasy world, the time and care taken to establish the locations and characters in a commendable manner is not shown off. The solid character development and world building means it’s a thoroughly enjoyable watch even without knowing anything about the game. The animation is absolutely brilliant. As an anime fan, I found the animation in Arcane to be a league beyond anything I’ve seen in an anime series before. There’s an incredible attention to detail. It’s clear that no artistic talent or money was spared in bringing the world of Runeterra to life and the themes. Only the first three episodes have been released so far, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!.
